{Tuesdays With Dorie} No Pressure Sugar-Topped Molasses Spice Cookies

Have you made your Christmas list yet?  Started your Christmas shopping?  Finished your Christmas shopping?  No pressure or anything.  It’s not like I’ve done any of those things yet.  I take that back, I bought my first Christmas present yesterday, so I guess I’ve officially jumped on the holiday bandwagon.

If you need a little nudge to get you started, here’s a recipe that will help get you in the holiday mood.  Sugar-Topped Molasses Spice Cookies chosen by Pamela of Cookies With Boys for this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie is just perfect for snacking on while making out your gift list.  A crispy cookie with a little bit of softness in the center from the molasses and brown sugar that is spiced with ginger, cinnamon, allspice and a little pinch of black pepper, and covered with a little sprinkling of sugar ‘snow’.  Sweet, spicy and delicious.

Sound good?  Visit Pamela for the recipe.  Now I must go make my list.

  1. Your cookies look perfect. These were absolutely delicious!

I go to Crate and Barrel and shop after Christmas. I have the majority of my Christmas presents purchased, plus a few that still need to be purchased. And then some goodies need to be made in the kitchen. I will hopefully be finished by the second week in Decmber….fingers and toes crossed.:)

  2. I am actually quite proud of myself this year regarding Christmas shopping! I have made a list (mostly of ideas on what to get people), I have completely stricken (struck?) two names off that list and a few gifts here and there for others! I’m doing good, unlike last year. But I figure that I’d much rather endure light lines NOW than looooong lines later OR paying $20 extra bucks in shipping to order online. Noooo thanks.

beautiful cookies! makes me want one!!

  3. Wow, your cookies look like perfection! Mine came out a bit too flat and a bit overbaked so no nooks and crannies like yours! I did actually start my Christmas shopping, but I’m sure I’ll have last minute shopping as usual! It’s not even Thanksgiving yet, yipes! =)
Thanks for the congratulations! I love your ‘new’ blog look!

  4. Your cookies look perfect, these are definitely good fuel for getting you into the holiday spirit. I’m a huge procrastinator, so this is too early for me to start shopping. The only xmas preparation I’ve done is telling my boyfriends gifts I want.

  5. Well, I wasn’t feeling any holiday stress before I stopped by here, so thanks for bringing that up! Nothing that a molasses cookie or two won’t fix; good thing I have two logs of dough in the freezer. Love the way yours look.

  6. How’s that list coming along? I’m happy to report that I’m getting close to being finished with my shopping. Feels weird, though. I feel the need to keep shopping. But I guess that’s not necessarily a bad thing. 🙂 Anyway…thanks for baking the cookies with me. They look fantastic.
