Here you see a picture of the very last of the Allspice Crumb Muffins, now extinct in this household. The elusive Allspice Crumb Muffin almost didn’t make an appearance for the photo, as it seemed to disappear every time it was set aside . . .
I was finally able to grab the last one today to photograph, and then I had it for my breakfast. Here is another surprisingly delicious recipe from Dorie Greenspan’s Baking: From My Home to Yours, chosen for Tuesdays with Dorie by Kayte of Grandma’s Kitchen Table. Surprising because of the simplicity and scarcity of the one spice used to flavor these muffins that results in such a warm and comforting taste. They’re then topped with a sweet crumb topping that sinks in ever so slightly to make them irresistible.
Visit Kayte’s site for the recipe and make these muffins. You won’t believe how quickly they become extinct.
These were delicious…and your muffins are beautiful!!!!
Awesome photo! I wish I had some of these left so I could have one for breakfast tomorrow.
I agree…great picture! These were so good, weren’t they? I didn’t’ think they’d be SO yummy.
It looks very moist and delicious. I love crumb topping.
I didn’t get to make these, sadly…bum foot. 😦 Yours look amazing, and I am definitely going to give them a try soon.
Your blog is lovely, btw. It has great character. 🙂
Oh, yeah, they disappeared like that around here as well. Simple, but effective! Love the photo you managed to capture, the plate makes it even look more old fashioned and special…very nice and sweet. Thanks for baking with me this week!
I think this will be my next recipe to try out. Sweet crumb topping is my favourite! Thanks for the idea and delicious photo.
